Christopher Monfort Loses His Shit in Court

Christopher Monfort, the man accused of fatally shooting officer Timothy Brenton on Halloween, freaked the fuck out during a court appearance yesterday.

And it's on video.

More of a persuasive speech than a rant, really
Dismissed in the main stream media as a everything from a rambling message to a tirade, this is actually a pretty eloquent five minute persuasive speech delivered under rather hostile circumstances. I especially liked this part:
"Freedom is not free. I'm speaking with a lisp right now... the side of my face is
paralyzed. I can't walk. I'm dead from the waist down. Freedom is not free. It requires
sacrifice. And, although all the freedom we have now has been won for us by our
founding fathers, from time to time we must maintain that... Can anybody here tell me the price of freedom? Anybody? It's death. It's not free."
The line between villain and vigilante is often blurry.

Sorry...
Executing an SPD cop with a deer rifle from a few feet away -- in order to "correct" some perceived offense from an entirely different department -- can hardly be defended by appealing to anything having to do with the villain-vigilante line.

The pre-meditated murder of innocents in the furtherance of a war over ideals makes sense only in the calculus of the criminally insane. Ask the parents of the kids Tim McVeigh murdered. Or the kids of the WTC victims.
